At Hawera Eyecare, several of our Optometrists are Authorised Medicines Prescribers and ACC registered practitioners. This means we can treat eye injuries, infections or inflammatory disease using prescription medicines.

- Sudden blurry vision
- Seeing flashing lights in your vision
- Finding there are patches missing from your vision
- Seeing a curtain come across your vision to obscure a part of it
- The appearance of eye floaters for the first time
- A change or an increase in the number of eye floaters
- Pain of a moderate to severe nature within the eye
- Sudden sensitivity to glare and bright lights
- Having foreign bodies (such as metal) become imbedded within the eye
- An unusual headache which persists
- Suddenly developing double vision (seeing two of one object)
- Pain when you move your eye
- A sudden swelling of your eye or eyelids
